The African Governance Platform as the institutional mechanism for the African Governance Architecture serves as the evaluation mechanism for the implementation of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG). Guidelines for State Parties' Reports under ACDEG were adopted by the 28th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 28 January 2016 to guide reporting on the Charter within the context of Article 44, 45 and 49. Thus far, one State Party Report (Togo) has been submitted on its efforts towards the implementation of ACDEG. Efforts are in place to offer technical assistance to State Parties to ACDEG to prepare and submit State Reports on the implementation of the Charter.
